Back pain is a disease that is very common in humans. Back pain usually gets better within a few weeks or even months.

Pain in the lower back is also known as lumbago. Pain can appear anywhere, along the spine. Starting from the neck to the hips.

Dissected from its anatomy, the human back is composed of a complex structure. Covers muscles, tendons, ligaments, discs, and bones. All of them work together to support the body and enable humans to move. The segments of the human spine are covered with cartilage-like pads. This is what is called a disc.

If there is a problem with one of these structures, it can cause back pain. Low back pain can be caused by the following factors:

1.Tension in muscles

  • Taking things in an incorrect way
  • Lifting something that is too heavy
  • Makes sudden, hesitant movements

2. Problems with the back structure

A number of structural problems can also cause back pain. Among these problems are:

Abnormal curvature of the spine

If the spine is curved, back pain can occur. For example, if you have scoliosis, which is a condition in which the spine becomes curved to the side.

Arthritis

Osteoarthritis can cause problems in the joints in the hips, lower back, and other parts of the body.

Osteoporosis

The spine is fragile and porous in people with osteoporosis, making compression fractures more likely.

3. Movement and posture

A sitting position that is too hunched over can increase back, waist, and shoulder problems over time. For example, twisting of the waist, stretching excessively, bending for a long time, pushing or pulling something heavy, and coughing or sneezing.

Back pain can also be from standing or sitting for too long, straining your neck forward, driving too long without resting, and sleeping on a mattress that doesn't keep your back straight.
