How to Prevent Scoliosis with Exercise, Help Improve Posture pt.2

Arm and leg raises

The second way to prevent scoliosis is with arm and leg raises. The lower back can be strengthened with this lifting motion of the arms and legs. To do this movement:

  • Lie on your back with your forehead against the floor.
  • Extend your arms above your head, with your palms positioned touching the floor. Keep your legs straight.
  • Raise your right hand and left foot off the floor.
  • Hold for a full breath or two, then bring it back down.
  • Repeat with the other hand and leg.
  • Do it in 15 repetitions on each side.
  • Cat-Camel

    How to prevent scoliosis with the third exercise, namely cat-camel. Cat-camel is a yoga pose. This can help keep the spine flexible and pain-free. To do the Cat-camel pose:

  • Start with your hands and knees touching the floor so that you are on all fours, make sure your back is flat, and that your head and neck are comfortable.
  • Take a deep breath, then pull your abdominal muscles in and up so that they form an arch in your back.
  • Exhale and release abdominal muscles while lowering your back, letting your stomach drop, and lifting your head up toward the ceiling.
  • Do two sets of 10 times.
