How to Prevent Scoliosis with Exercise, Help Improve Posture pt.1

Scoliosis can cause pain as well as changes in how you walk. Scoliosis conditions that are left untreated will get worse with age. This condition can cause problems in other organs such as the heart and lungs if not repaired.

In mild cases, scoliosis sufferers can be treated with certain exercises and stretches, so there is no need for surgery.

The way to prevent scoliosis with the first exercise is with pelvic tilts. Pelvic tilts will help stretch the tight muscles in your hips and lower back. To perform a pelvic tilt:

  • Lie on your back with your feet flat on the floor and knees bent.
  • Tighten your abdominal muscles while lifting your buttocks up.
  • Hold for 5 seconds, while breathing normally.
  • Then release and lower your buttocks back to the floor.
  • Do two sets of 10 times.
